About Me

Hi everyone! I’m a soon-to-be graduate of the English Studies M.A. program at Ball State University (class of 2025), where I also earned my Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design (class of 2023).

If that doesn’t already hint at my wide range of interests, I also minored in both Creative Writing and Chemistry during undergrad. I chose English Studies for my master’s degree because it allowed me to take courses across various concentrations—Creative Writing, Literature, and Rhetoric & Composition—which has been perfect for someone like me who loves to learn across disciplines.

During my graduate studies, I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the English department, where I taught English 103 and 104 to undergraduate students. For my English 103 course, I developed a curriculum that centered around a theme of “Applying Apparel and Fashion.” Students completed four major writing assignments: a personal essay about their own experiences with fashion and clothing, an interview-based profile on someone else’s fashion story, a rhetorical analysis of a fashion runway show, and a cross-cultural essay exploring the relationship between rhetorical practices and traditional dress in a culture of their choice. I was unsure about the theme going into the semester, but my students really embraced it. Overall, the theme united us as not just a class, but as a small community.  Teaching this class specifically has been one of my favorite experiences while being at Ball State. 

My primary passions are fashion and writing, and my ultimate dream is to work for a fashion magazine. In the meantime, I’m building my online presence by using social media to explore the connections between fashion and writing. From sharing daily outfit videos to creating scripts that break down fashion concepts, I’ve been using my platform as a creative outlet to combine my love of storytelling and style.
